1. Superb Location：
Er Tea Inn boasts an excellent location, just a five-minute walk from Sun Moon Lake, with ample parking provided.
Their collaboration with the Chunghsing Parking Lot allows guests free access from check-in to check-out until 12 PM on the departure day, making it incredibly convenient for us self-driving enthusiasts. No need to spend much time getting immersed in the scenic beauty, enjoying the breathtaking views of Sun Moon Lake, and exploring nearby eateries.
2. Friendly Hostess：
Upon entering Er Tea Inn, the air is filled with the delightful aroma of tea, instantly relaxing both mind and body. The hostess greeted us with their award-winning “Red Sugar Black Tea” as a welcome drink.
She not only warmly introduced nearby restaurants but also actively recommended a cherry blossom viewing trip to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. Purchasing tickets through them also provided a discount of NT$100 per person, a great deal!
This thoughtful service made us feel right at home, perfect for travelers like us who prefer spontaneous exploration rather than extensive pre-planning.
3. Luxurious Facilities and Delicious Breakfast：
Entering our room, we were pleasantly surprised. The room not only featured a large TV but also offered the option to watch Netflix, catering to my love for TV series.
The hostess also upgraded our room to one with a comfortable bathtub, adding a touch of luxury to our stay.
However, it’s worth noting that the water heater tends to cool down after about 20 minutes of use, so it’s advisable to refill the hot water in two stages. While the room lacked a small dining table, slightly inconvenient, the overall comfort was not compromised.
The breakfast at Er Tea Inn was a daily delight. Rich in variety and presented in adorable picnic baskets, it added an extra touch of charm. A floor-to-ceiling window would be a fantastic addition for an even better experience (I’m asking for a lot, aren’t I? Haha).
4. Tea Feast：
The hostess, with a warm smile, not only provided us with a tea-tasting area on the first floor but also shared her home-grown tea leaves.
Especially noteworthy are the award-winning Taiwan No. 18 Black Tea (Gold Award) and Purple Bud Red Tea (Silver Award), both of which left me enamored.
Purple Bud, with its anthocyanin-rich new leaves, starts with a slight purple hue, and the hostess generously shared the benefits of anthocyanins, which include boosting immunity and providing antioxidant effects. This tea, sourced from tea trees over 60 years old, offers a mellow and rich taste.
While sipping tea, the hostess shared numerous tips on tea brewing, even sending follow-up messages upon our departure – truly considerate!
In the end, we purchased some Purple Bud and Brown Sugar Black Tea to take home as a continuation of this beautiful memory.
5. Excellent Value for Money：
The most surprising part was the affordability of this fantastic accommodation. With only a little over NT$4000 for a two-night stay per person, Er Tea Inn offers exceptional value for money. It truly exceeded our expectations.
In the end, many guests leave thankful notes for the host and hostess, regardless of nationality. It is evident that their hospitality is truly exceptional!
Areas for Improvement:
To enhance the experience, I suggest adding small tables to the rooms for more convenience during breakfast. Additionally, the hot water in the bathtub tends to run out relatively quickly, so extending the usage time would be appreciated, providing a longer-lasting soaking experience.
In conclusion, this stay was truly fantastic! Er Tea Inn not only provides excellent accommodation but also offers a deep immersion into the local tea culture. If you seek a balance between nature and convenience, consider this cozy bed and breakfast. I look forward to visiting again and experiencing more wonderful moments!
